The fitness classes at Brushy Lake are structured in 6-week block of classes (session dates & registration periods are listed below).  Residents will be able to purchase six weeks of classes in certain formats noted below.  The minimum number of people to make a six week block is dependent on the class.  If less than the required number purchase six weeks worth of classes in a format, the class will be postponed to the next six week sign up time.  Residents must register in advance for these classes.  The drop in fee for any class is $8.   Childcare is still provided with a babysitting card.  See related documentregarding registration procedures.

MIND/BODY CLASSES

PACKAGE 1
Includes the following: 

Tuesday & Thursday  @ 8:10am Yoga

PACKAGE 2

Saturdays @ 9:30am Yoga

Cost:  $40

 

PACKAGE 3

Monday-Yoga

Wednesday-Iron Yoga

Classes begin at 8pm

All Yoga Packages require a minimum of 5 people registered in order to remain on the schedule

 



CYCLING CLASSES

 

PACKAGE 1- Mon/Wed/Fri 5:30am Spin & Lift*   

60 min class:  30 mins cycling/30 mins strength training

Cost:  $75 ($12.50 per week)

 

PACKAGE 2 – Tues/Thurs 5:30am Express Class
45 minutes cycling with various challenges

NOTE:  This package has been cancelled for the second session of 2010, due to low registration numbers.  We will attempt to offer this option for the next session.

 

PACKAGE 3- Mon/Wed/Fri 8:30am Spin & Lift Express

60 min class: 30 mins cycling/30 mins strength training
Cost: $75 ($12.50 per week)


PACKAGE 4 - Thursday 6:15 p.m., Spin & Lift 
60 min class:  30 mins cycling/30 mins strength training
Cost:  $40 

 

PACKAGE 5- Saturday 8:30am

60 minutes of challenging cycling
Cost:  $40 ($6.60 per week)

 

*Babysitting not available during 5:30am classes

Cycling:  aka Spinning

Indoor cycling (also known as Spinning) is a non-impact workout done on a stationary bike with an instructor as your coach, simulating an outdoor ride. The benefits of cycling include increased cardiovascular efficiency, lower body strength gains, and the motivation of a coached class with a ‘team’ of riders. The bikes are designed to work with a tension knob which the participant controls during the class, so you can work as hard as you want, or take breaks during the class.

Research has shown that one can burn as many as 400-700 calories in a one-hour class! The camaraderie built in a group exercise class such as this cannot be compared with any other classes currently offered.

Registration is open to all, but class size is limited. Please contact Lynn Garcia ator see your Brushy Lake Fitness Center staff to register. Please be sure to check out our registration procedures. Class schedules are subject to change.
