The new school year will be here before we know it, and now is the time to prepare!  Early kindergarten registration in April kicks off our

2008-2009 school year registration process.  Registering students early helps area schools plan appropriately for the next year, allowing the district to hire the appropriate number of teachers. Kindergarten registration for Scanlan Oaks Elementary, Sienna Crossing Elementary and the New Elementary #43 will be held in late April.  Please go to the school to which you are zoned, unless you are zoned to attend Elementary #43.  Parents along FM 521 residing south of  the railroad tracks to the county line should register at Scanlan Oaks.  Parents along FM 521 residing north of the railroad tracks should register at Sienna Crossing.  Students residing in the Anderson Springs area should register at Sienna Crossing.  Registration dates are:

• Tuesday, April 22        6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
• Wednesday, April 23   8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
• Thursday, April 24       8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

It is very important to register your kindergartner early!  To be eligible for kindergarten, a child must be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2008.  The following items are needed for registration:

Birth Certificate
Immunization record
Proof of residency (Deed of Trust or Lease agreement and current utility bill)
Child’s social security card
Photo identification of the parent

Registration packets will not be accepted without all of the above listed documents. Registration for students entering grades 1-5 will begin after our current school year ends; you can register each day from June 9 to June 19 between the hours of 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. or 1 - 3 p.m.  Registration packets are available all summer.   These packets can be returned anytime after August 4 - when school registrars return to work.  Please encourage your new neighbors to register early!
